This entire adventure in running a craft brewery has been a series of whirlwind events. Week after week I am shocked with how much we can get done in the limited amount of time that we have. We stay pretty busy, so much so that I am now JUST getting to the write up about our distribution launch week, May 12th-18th. It was now over a month ago, but stands as on of the most absolutely wild weeks thus far. We put a ton of miles on the Jeep and made a bunch of new friends. It is great to say now officially that Wooden Legs Brewing company has distributed across the state of South Dakota.
Monday we started at Monk’s House of Ale Repute and launched two different beers. The reception was warm, welcoming and wonderful. That same night we zipped across town to debut yet another beer at Taphouse 41. It was the first time that the Tap House ever had a brewer release a beer at the restaurant. It was yet again a very warm and wonderful reception.
On Tuesday we celebrated our one year anniversary with a great trivia night there at the pub. It was packed!
Wednesday morning we found ourselves on the way to Aberdeen to two up-and-coming craft beer bars in that area. Pounders Bar and Grill gave us the opportunity to bring one of our beers and speak to their entire bar about the history of Wooden Legs Brewing Company. After a great reception at Pounders we headed over to Slackers and tapped another new beer. Slackers was outstanding! We met a whole host of craft beer fans.
Friday morning we got up bright and early, buckle on the seat belt, set the Jeep to cruise and headed west to Rapid City. That night the Independent Ale House played host to two more of our beers. I was great because they put us on tap in conjunction of Crow Peak as part of a #DrinkLocal event. The turnout at Rapid was outstanding we had a chance to meet a lot of old friends and make a large number of new ones.
It was a great week and we were very excited to introduce our beer to beer lovers across South Dakota. We are exploring new places and will keep our Tap Map updated as we add more lines.
